Nettle Smoothie

by Hugh
(Fairfax, CA)

Nettles are a tasty and nutritious green that can be found at your local farmers market, in the hills around your house, and perhaps even in your own back yard. Nettles are a great source of silica which is an important mineral in terms of healing and rejuvenation. The Daikon radish which I also added is high in silica as are cucumbers, and other dark leafy greens.

Silica is said to maintain joint flexibility, provide joint support, protect cartilage; Reduce swelling, enhance ligament protection and tissue plasticity; add strength and luster to hair and nails; Improvie the elasticity of the skin by supporting collagen production for healthy, younger looking skin.

According to French Scientist Professor Kervan, silica and magnesium are the two minerals responsible for building calcium in the bones. He says they are biologically transmuted into calcium in the bones.

Ingredients:

3 oranges

3 bananas

2 large handfuls of nettles

½ head of romaine lettuce

1½” chunk of Daikon radish

Optional:

fresh ginger root

cucumber
