Leafy greens

Q I am trying very hard but my family can't stand the taste of the greens!!! Help!!!! I agree with them! I love cooked spinach and spinach salads but we don't eat them often enough. I agree with my family, every drink I’ve made with greens has been horrible! Please help!!! Is there a way to totally disguise the flavor, at least to begin with????? Thanks!!!! Lynna

A I’m guessing your talking about green juices Lynna. They can be a bit tough for many people to get used to. Juicing fruit with a small amount of spinach or lettuce should help. As you are able to drink them with some degree of likability then increase the amount of greens. Over time you should be able to drink mainly if not all green juices.

Adding in mild vegetables like cucumber and celery can also help to water down the harsher greens. If you look at the Juicing Recipes on the website you’ll see many that are fruit and veggie combos that will give you some good ideas.

Green smoothies are another great way to go. Once again start out with mainly fruit and a few milder greens. Once you’ve adapted to that slowly add more greens in over time.

These Smoothie Recipes can be adjusted as to the amount of greens added to suit your needs. Almost everyone loves a fruit smoothie with just a few mild greens added.
