Fat Burner

by Hugh

The Fat Burner is not for the faint of heart, but once you are able to consume a large glass of this a day you will be well on your way to greater health. There are several ideas at the bottom of the page for mellowing the recipe for those not ready to take it on at full strength.

All the ingredients for this superb cleansing juice are potent and magical in their benefits, and cabbage may be the king of these.

Cabbage is known to help with constipation and keep the digestive tract moving. The high sulfur content cleanses the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestinal tract, so nutrients are better absorbed. After all we are not what we eat, but rather what we are able to digest and assimilate. A clean well working digestive tract is key to good health and weight loss.

Many people find it hard to lose weight because their bodies are forever starved of nutrients, and so they feel hunger all the time. When the digestive tract works properly and nutrients are absorbed from a good healthy diet then appetite drops off accordingly and so do the pounds.

Being high in Vitamin C, cabbage it is great for strengthening the immune system. There are alternative therapies for major dis-eases that use high doses of vitamin C as a cornerstone, and daily intake of this critical vitamin in sufficient quantities is key to maintaining great health.

Cabbage is both anti-bacterial and anti-viral making it a superior food to kill germs, parasites and viruses. It is also high in vitamin K, iodine, iron, manganese, and both soluble and insoluble fiber.

Ingredients for Fat Burner

½ head green cabbage

½ bunch celery

1 bunch dandelion greens

½ lemon, with rind

1” to 2” chunk of fresh ginger root

If this juice seems like too daunting a task as is it may be diluted with water, or you can switch out the green cabbage for Napa cabbage, which is milder. Backing off a tad on the dandelion greens would be another way to mellow this juice a bit.

Fat Burner juice
by: Marisa

What is the calories in this drink?

******Typically the veggies in this juice are going to run about 100 calories per pound of fresh veggies. So depending on how much juice you make. But this juice does not contain very many calories at all, perhaps 200 to 225.

why not drink the pulp
by: Anonymous

I never understood why get rid of the pulp. The pulp is where the fiber is.

REPLY********Juicing is a way to assimilate nutrients in a very effective and quick way. There is soluble fiber in juice and the rest of your diet should contain plenty of insoluble fiber.

Smoothies are also great for breaking down food to a form that is easy to assimilate, but is more filling and not as quick to assimilate. Smoothies do of course contain all the fiber.

Juicing is just another way to take in nutrients and is very easy on the digestive system. Think about it, when does your digestive system ever get a chance to rest if it's always processing food. Month after month and year after year processing food endlessly. We all deserve a break, even our digestive systems.

Enjoy your juice and eat a high fiber diet...like the High Raw Diet!

It's more of a question.
by: Dale

Can I use a blender for juicing?

*******Yes, you can. After blending run the contents of the blender through a nut milk bag or cheese cloth to catch the pulp.

Ultimately a juicer is best in the long run, but the blender method will work.

I just made this, minus the ginger because I didn't have any on hand. It's STRONG, but still good! Thanks for sharing!

Need help
by: Kelly

I've got a slow juicer it's 60rpm can you help me as I need to loose weight. I've got a really bad sweet tooth.but my doctors advice me on the vegetables and not fruit so how can I sweeten up my vegetable juicing please?

*******Juice your greens with apple, orange or other sweet fruit and gradually back off the fruit. It's not you that craves the sweets it's the bugs living inside you that have grown out of balance.

As you go along and eat less fruits, and cut out all processed sweets as well, your cravings will diminish.

I own a ninja juicer and from day 1 I fell in love with it. It juices every vegetable and fruit you want. also you don't end up throwing anything away. The clean-up is a cinch.

*****Glad you're enjoying your Ninja, although it is actually a mini blender, not a juicer.

Calories

How much juice do I need to drink daily? Also what is the calorie content...say for 4oz?

Drink at least 8 to 12 ounces a day and much more if you want. I don't know the caloric content, but you can figure as a rule of thumb greens are about 100 calories per pound.

Blend or Juice?
by: Holly

Ah I want to try this, but did you juice it or blend it? I'm trying a juice fast right now, so I'll juice it. Later I can try it blended. I am so sick to death of sweet juices now! LOL. Really want to try some more savory things.

*******This is a juice Holly, but as you say could be blended as well. :)

juicing
by: kem

Is it ok to juice in large quantity and store in the fridge?

******Yes. Fresh is always best but fresh juice in containers filled to the top so there is little to no air at top will last all day in the fridge or in a cooler.
