Apple Pie Smoothie

by Gretchen
(Fairfax, CA)

This smoothie is called apple pie because the ingredients are very similar to those in the raw apple pie recipe and the flavor really comes through also. Have your apple pie and get your greens in too.

3 apples

2 bananas

4 oz. dates

1 head romaine

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Blend all ingredients and enjoy! Add more or less cinnamon to your taste, and if desired, add ginger and a dash of nutmeg.

A Definite Must Make Again!
by: KT

This was definitely one of my favorites and will be on my short list. To Hugh's recommendation, I did add bok choy including the stalk and kale to the ingredients. I only used 4 dates. The cinnamon and nutmeg were a nice touch. Dee-li- CIOUS!!

Really good!

I added too much of some other ingredients (chia seed made it much too thick) so the first batch was tasty but needed tweaking. I reduced the dates from 5 (which was my measurement for 4 oz.s) to 4. I didn't have any romaine either and used too much baby spinach and field greens in the first batch so reduced it to a couple hands full in the second. I also used frozen bananas so needed some liquids in my Vitamix. I used almond milk then added a hand full of ice at the end. Delicious!
