Peel!? Juicing ?????
by: Anonymous

I am new to juicing as well and was so pleased to see that I wasn't the only one confused about peels. So glad i found this site! On my way to make this green juice now.

Maybe someone could help me with a question I have. Does all juicing detoxify and help lose weight while increasing metabolism? Or are there specific ones to continually use until you've lost the weight you desire?

****Juices will help detoxify by their nature. Being mostly liquid and easily assimilated they take the burden off the digestive system so it can clean house. Any juice I can think of can help you lose weight, but some are perhaps better than others.

The ones listed on the website specifically for detox and weight loss are good ones, but most will work depending on each individuals nutritional needs.

Peel your citus
by: Byanne

The peels in citrus can cause gas and bloating in some people, so I remove mine.I try to leave as much pith (the white) as possible.Good drink.

So yummy! I thought it was a little sweet so I thought I'd add more veggies! I added 1/2 sweet potato, a couple more carrots, and some broccoli. My new favorite drink!

A way to use my 10 lbs of Organic Carrots!
by: YumYum

I used a lemon instead of a lime and kale instead of spinach and 6 carrots. It tastes like sunshine! Thank you for a high carrot count recipe!

Peels or no peels?
by: Anonymous

I'm new to this. I was lucky to have read some comments prior to making; otherwise I probably wouldn’t have known to peel the oranges. I thought juicers were known for extracting the good stuff out of peels and rinds too, but knowing how strong orange peels are, that seemed odd to me. Unfortunately because it wasn't specified, I think I made a mistake in leaving the lime unpeeled. This overpowered the drink! It was still yummy, but I would peel lemons/limes/oranges in the future!

Hugh’s reply****You would leave the peels on with a citrus juicer, but if using a standard juicer you would remove the peels from oranges and grapefruit. I leave the peels on with lemons and limes though, it’s easier and you get some of the nutrients from the rind.
