Why Raw Food Weightloss Works

One reason raw food weight loss works is because its an alkaline diet, and an alkaline diet helps to remove acid wastes, or toxins from the body, many of which are encapsulated in your body fat. As the toxins are released your body can now let these excess fat deposits go as well. This is why many people struggle with weight gain, the added fat is actually protecting their bodies from an immediate health crash, so theyre continually trying to diet to lose weight, while it may be as simple as balancing the body Ph.

Fast Weight loss

In 1960, American women in their 20s averaged about 128 pounds. By 2000, women of the same age weighed an average 157 pounds. In 1960, American women in their 40s weighed an average 142 pounds. By 2000, American women of the same age weighed an average 169 pounds. This is according to Dr. David Kessler, former head of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Dr. Kessler attributes these alarming statistics to social norms today that allow eating any time of the day or night, and the availability of highly palatable foods sold everywhere.

I believe that we have become a society of grazers. From the time we get up to the time we go to bed we are not long without either food or drink. If you look around today youll notice that people are eating and drinking everywhere they go. From school, work, shopping, lectures, workshops, everywhere. People eat dinner then go out to catch a movie and down another 1200 1500 calories in treats and think nothing of it.

During the early 60s when I was in grade school and a class was made up of about 30 kids all the kids were skinny , except for maybe one kid who was overweight, not obese, but over weight. As we look around today we clearly see theres an explosion of overweight and obese children.

Obesity has become an epidemic in the U.S. and other developed countries. As many as one-third of all Americans are obese based on the BMI (body mass index) criteria. In addition to body image issues, obesity causes significant health issues. It is the second leading cause of preventable death (after smoking), and is associated with type 2 diabetes, mental health, coronary artery disease, arthritis, gallstones, depression, certain types of cancer, and God knows what else.

The Good news is there is a very simple way to lose weight quickly and keep it off. And it wont cost you anymore than youre already spending on your food now. In fact youll probably see a savings.

Healthy Recipes for Kids

How about healthy recipes for kids, ones they will enjoy? Kids cringe at the thought of "healthy food." Let's face it, so do most adults. But it is not as hard as you think to create healthy, raw food meals that everyone will love. If proper nutrition is started at an early age, children grow up enjoying healthy food.

When we eat healthy raw foods, several things happen. First of all, we have more energy. And because were eating foods in their natural state were receiving all the natural goodness nature intended in the form of vitamins, mineral, antioxidants, phytonutrients, enzymes and many yet to be discovered nutrients. Research shows that these natural components provide a strong foundation for good health and may help prevent serious disease as well. The fiber in these foods will help to keep your colon on a more regular schedule which is critical to good health no matter what your age is.

If you want to create tasty healthy recipes for kids how about getting your kids involved in meal planning. Let them add the things that they like to a salad, the main course, or even dessert. Let's say you give everyone some lettuce or other leafy green and let the kids build their own salad from the variety of other foods in bowls on the table. There are lots of organic raw foods that can be added to the salad. Apple pieces, mandarin sections, celery, walnuts, hemp seeds, fennel, tomatoes, shredded carrots, raisins, peas... the list is endless, just get creative. And as we know a large healthy salad can be a complete meal.

Children are growing and need fats from healthy sources to build better bodies. Omega 3 fatty acids are an excellent source of nutrition which are notably missing from the standard American diet. Foods like walnuts, hemp seeds, ground flax seed and chia seed are great sources of omega 3s. One of these fats blended with orange juice and a few herbs or spices gives you a very healthy salad dressing.

There are lots of things that you can create with fresh fruit that will get your little one excited. A really great breakfast meal or any meal for that matter is a large green smoothie. Add fruits and greens to the blender with a table spoon of flax or chia seed and let it rip. Kids will love helping with this as well. Its tasty and very healthy, fruit for energy, greens for minerals, and seeds fulfilling the bodys needs for healthy fats.

When planning healthy recipes for kids think of these words: fresh, whole, ripe, organic, and raw as the golden words for creating healthy meals and kids. Oh, and add one more, variety. Consuming a wide variety of fruits and vegetables is important for maintaining good health. So lets review, involve the kids in meal planning and preparation, be creative, and let nature take its course.
